Rural History

Stone Tower and a Black Bird

Crumbling tan stone ruins with a circular tower sit on a rocky desert ledge under dark storm clouds, with a black bird perched on the highest stones.

The bird is the only moving part. Stone courses still hold a circle even as the rest of the wall lets go. Ruin photographs work when they stay specific: one tower, one perch, one sky that has not finished for the day.
